Artificial Grass Is Not A New Product
But People May Want To Consider It
As a Less-Expensive Alternative To Grass!

Manufacturers are pitching faux lawns to homeowners around the country. Not only is artificial turf convenient, they say, but the products help the environment by saving water and cutting down on pesticide use. Others say faux grass is anything but green. (See related article.) Grass at the Wynn

SynLawn, based in Dalton, Ga., offers varieties including SynRye, SynBlue and SynFescue – shown here at a home in Santa Monica. The company now uses a soy-based backing for most products, instead of one made from petro-chemicals.

Environmental groups and parents have raised concerns over the chemicals found in artificial turf on athletic fields and playgrounds.
