Supporters of Hillary Clinton are planning a convention rumble. There will be some rallies at the Democratic national convention in Denver to express their disappointment with the party’s presidential primary process. They have filmed a TV commercial, raised $40,000, and will make a lot of noise at the convention. Apparently another Hillary group, with or without her approval called 18 Million Strong will be marching in Denver to drum up Clinton support.
One of the Denver Groups of Clinton backers has filmed a TV commercial and scheduled a large reception in Denver for August 26. It will be there to advocate for women’s rights worldwide, according to their web site.
These groups are at odds with the Democratic Party, so watch out for some real fireworks.
One of the Denver Group’s goals are reportedly at odds with those of the Democratic Party. It wants an open convention, with Hillary’s name placed in nomination, as well as a genuine roll call vote with Clinton as a legitimate candidate instead of what it calls a “coronation” of Barack Obama.
A print add will focus on Franklin Roosevelt. When he was nominated it was on the fourth ballot at the 1932 convention..
This group asks, “Would Howard Dean and Nancy Pelosi have kept his [Franklin’s] name off the ballot?”
If, indeed, there is an open convention in Denver, look for Obama to fold and to name Hillary Clinton his running mate, just to quell the confusion and dissension in the ranks. This won’t be a great decision for Obama and will portend the kind of “decide-at-the-last-minute” under pressure president he will become if elected–a weak appeaser who can’t stand on his own two feet.
