>Mr. Burris Goes To Washington

>I can’t see how the Democratic-controlled Senate can say no to the Governor Blogojevich appointment, Roland Burris from Chicago. Eventually, after a show of disdain the two-faced Democrats will give in to political pressure.

Burris has stooped to the lowest level he can to pin down a Senate seat. He is now touting himself as “God Appointed,” which bothers me and many others greatly. It is just the opposite, an apostle of evil, the errant governor, has appointed him and it saddens me to see so many blacks falling for this kind of blather.

Good governance has been thrown out the window and some blacks are so desparate that they now drag their religious feelings in the political mud of Chicago politics. What a shame!

Dozens of black leaders and ministers organized by U.S. Rep. Bobby Rush (former Black Panther) gave Burris a rousing send-off Sunday at New Covenant Church on Chicago’s South Side. Burris took the stage to a crescendo of drums, organ music and applause as hundreds of supporters cheered his appointment.
“We are hoping and praying that they will not be able to deny what the Lord has ordained,” Burris said. “I am not hesitating. I am now the junior Senator from the state of Illinois. Some people may want to question that and that is their prerogative.” Read on . . .
