>Has Rupert Murdock Become A Conservative?

>One must ask, has Rupert Murdock mellowed and become conservative suddenly? Or is there a grand strategy looming behind his million-dollar donation to the Republican Governors in June, 2010 and a newly announced-by-News Corp-donation of a million dollars to the Republican Party.

He usually divides his donations equally between the Democrats and Republicans. Is it because he wants the Republican Party to subsume or take over the Tea Party Movement and run business as usual when the so-called conservatives take over Congress? What are his motives? Maybe you know. If so, leave a comment below. Meanwhile, Here’s the story from Slatest:

Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp. Gives $1 Million to Republican Cause

News Corp. forked over $1 million to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce this summer in support of the chamber’s efforts to ensure a Republican takeover of Congress, reports Politico. News Corp.’s sizable donation stands in stark contrast to its previous giving patterns, which have been more equally divided between Democrats and Republicans. Other media parent companies like Disney (ABC) and General Electric (NBC) consistently donate but tend to give less and to distribute it between the two parties. New Corp.’s lopsided injection of cash, preceded by a $1 million donation to the Republican Governors Association in June, has some asking whether Rupert Murdoch’s empire has become overly zealous in promoting a partisan agenda. The Chamber of Commerce reports it will spend $75 million on the 2010 elections. Large sums have already been deployed on behalf of Republican Senate candidates, including $6.7 million on television ads. News Corp. declined to comment on the contribution.
