Russell Martin and Derek Jeter Power Yanks Over Rays

By Don White with help from MLB Baseball, MLB.com

Below find  the latest MLB stats, for both American and National Leagues.  Notice, a former Yankee outfielder Milky Cabrera is leading both leagues, and he now plays for the Giants in the National League, with a BA as of September 6, 2012 of 346

NYY@TB: Martin hits a double to right to plate a pair

I actually like Derek Jeter’s stats more, however. He is hitting .319 with a league-leading 182 hits. He got three hits last night in the Rays-Yankee game at the Trop in Tampa where the Yankees climbed back to an undisputed first place in the American League East by defeating Tampa’s Rays, 6-4, on catcher Russell Martin’s two-run double. Martin was the hero of the game, accounting for most of his team’s RBIs. I watched that game with joy because I love both teams. It didn’t matter to me who won, though since the Rays were at home I was rooting mostly for them. It was a beaut.
